At heart I’m an artist.  If I could be anywhere, I’d be some place peaceful in the surrounding hills of Florence with my fold out easel, some perfectly gessoed wood, and a boatload of oil paints.  That being said, I do enjoy my illustration process greatly, and will happily dive through my stacks of National Geos with scissors in one hand and acrylic paint in the other.  That being said over the years I’ve found myself more in tune with D E S I G N and all the beauty and purity that can be found in it.  So much so, that today I found my self staring and analyzing the color scheme and typography of a random gas station advertisement for PNC Bank while I was pumping gas.  Since I get more illustration work than design work (usually), I generally like to keep my design skills in the creative mix of things by sketching.  No not in my little sketchbook, but by working with photography and type to create little intro visuals for the Sunday feature on my music blog Pasta Primavera.  Every Sunday I post five songs that blew me away over the last few days – its called the Sunday Hi-5.  Here’s a few recent pieces:
